About Me

Welcome! I’m Yuekun (Alice) Chen, a graduating senior at the University of California, Irvine, where I’m earning dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychological Science (Cum Laude) and Sociology (Magna Cum Laude) with a cumulative GPA of 3.95/4.00.

Research Interests

My research focuses on understanding trauma, resilience, and mental health across diverse populations. I’m particularly interested in:

  • Intergenerational transmission of trauma in military families
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and treatment outcomes
  • Cognitive flexibility and anxiety in child protective services workers
  • Parental mental health and authoritarian parenting styles
  • Cultural adaptation of mental health interventions for Asian populations
  • Sleep patterns and circadian rhythms in trauma survivors

Current Research

I currently serve as Lab Manager and Research Coordinator at the Trauma and Resilience Lab at UC Irvine, led by Dr. Alyson K. Zalta. I also work as a Junior Research Specialist in Dr. Jacqueline Kim’s Stress, Coping and Health in Context Lab and as Project Coordinator in the Silver Stress and Coping Lab.
